HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hi loves! Hope y’all had an awesome Christmas! We had a great time just enjoying good quality family time! Christmas has always been a time of reflection for me, a time to look back at the year that has come to an end and time to look forward to the New Years, time to make plans, short and long term.

Top Three Things I Want To Focus On This Upcoming Year Are

1. Mental Health

This is a term that has been thrown around so often and for me in particularly, mental health means to take time aside for myself (me time!). This means time aside to do what makes me happy, whether this means to take a 15 minute walk, read a book, go to Homegoods, or get a well deserved and relaxing manicure! I think me time is so important, specially for us parents that are constantly doing things for somebody else like our husbands, kids, parents, extended family and friends.

2. Physical and Spiritual Health:

These two are just so important to me to have a personal connection and relationship with the Lord, and this will always be my number one priority. I’m a big believer that without a relationship and connection with our creator, our lives cannot be aligned. Spending time in prayer and meditation helps me see things with more clarity, and stay more connected with my being and with others!

I am not sure if I have shared this on this platform, but one of my passions in life is running. I love running! I discovered running the last few years and I’m loving it. I was tired of the conventional exercise, going to the gym, getting on the elliptical/treadmill, it got so boring. I stopped going to the gym for a while ( I kept a membership) I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do, I knew I needed to ‘move my body’ and engage in some sort of exercise, but didn’t know what. One day I received an email (I have been a supporter of the leukemia lymphoma cause for a long time) and in that email they asked if I wanted to be a part of a marathon that was coming up and to raise funds to fight cancer, leukemia to be exact. I thought about it for a little while, then talked to my husband about my desire to start Training to run a marathon and raise funds at the same time for a great cause. His immediate answer was ‘that’s great’ And knowing him so well, I knew he would be a great accountability partner. Well, I decided to start my training, I found a coach, she was awesome! At the time I met her, she has ran more than 30 marathons so I knew she Knew what she was doing. I trained, and trained and trained some more.. I ran my first marathon, yay!! My time was a little slow but that didn’t discourage me to continue running. This past 2019 I slow down in the running but my plan for 2020 is to start running again and I also plan on running two marathons!

3.Work/ Passion :

Lastly, my third big resolution for this year is to take my blog to the next level! Blogging is something I really enjoy doing, its like a little escape.. I would also like to incorporate a little bit more of home decor in my blog posts, which is something I’m very passionate about. My plan is to continue to post a blog post every Sunday by 6 PM and also to post bonus blog post in the middle of the week. I’m not quite sure yet which day yet but I’m thinking maybe Thursday.? I will for sure keep you posted once I pick a day for sure.
